Job Description: Assistant Director of Advancement
Department: Institutional Advancement
Reports To: Executive Director of Institutional Advancement
Pay Classification: 40 (Minimum Starting: $56,365)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Institutional Advancement supports Hill College's fundraising and donor engagement efforts by assisting in the development, implementation, and management of advancement strategies. Working closely with the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and the Advancement team, this role focuses on donor cultivation and stewardship, external funding support, outreach coordination, and advancement operations. The position plays a key role in strengthening relationships with individuals, organizations, and partners to enhance financial support for the College's mission and strategic goals.
Minimum Required
Education: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution, or a combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Minimum Required
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in advancement, fundraising, sales, community relations, or a related field
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
Preferred: Experience using donor management or advancement software
Core Duties and
Required Knowledge: Collaborate with the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement to plan, coordinate, and implement fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives.
Assist in managing comprehensive grants and external funding process, including identifying opportunities, coordinating submissions, and supporting compliance requirements.
Maintain regular communication with federal, state, and local funding agencies, donors, and community partners to promote Hill College funding priorities.
Represent Hill College at community organizations, professional associations, and outreach events to strengthen external relationships and visibility.
Manage and maintain advancement software systems, including donor databases, gift tracking, reporting, and stewardship documentation.
Coordinate donor outreach, solicitation, and stewardship efforts in collaboration with Institutional Affairs to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
Support leadership responsibilities related to the Hill College Foundation and affiliated nonprofit organizations.
Maintain working knowledge of fundraising principles, ethical standards, and best practices.
Ensure advancement activities comply with institutional policies and procedures.
Uphold and promote the Hill College mission, vision, values, and Code of Conduct.

Program Development: Support long-term fundraising and donor engagement strategies aligned with institutional priorities.
Assist in expanding and strengthening external partnerships that enhance financial sustainability.
Contribute to continuous improvement of advancement processes, outreach methods, and donor engagement practices.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Institutional Advancement team, Institutional Affairs, faculty, administrators, and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with internal departments to gather data, narratives, and materials needed for proposals, reports, and donor communications.
Serve on college committees and participate in institutional initiatives as assigned.
