Job Description: Assistant Director of Development

Pay Classification: 40 (Minimum Starting: $56,365)

Reports To: Executive Director of Institutional Advancement
Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Development supports the advancement efforts of Hill College by identifying, cultivating, and managing fundraising and external funding opportunities. Working collaboratively with the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and the Advancement team, this role focuses on donor relations, grant research and development, proposal writing, and community engagement to secure financial resources that advance the College's mission and strategic priorities.
Minimum Required
Education: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution, or a combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Minimum Required
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in advancement, fundraising, grants, sales, or community relations
Experience developing and writing proposals, including narratives, budgets, timelines, and supporting documentation
Experience coordinating projects and working collaboratively with faculty and staff
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
Core Duties and
Required Knowledge: Collaborate with the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement to plan and implement fundraising campaigns and development initiatives.
Research and identify grant and external funding opportunities aligned with Hill College's mission and institutional priorities.
Assist in overseeing a comprehensive grants and external funding process, including timelines, reporting requirements, and compliance monitoring.
Develop and write grant proposals, donor materials, and funding narratives, including budgets and supporting documentation.
Maintain regular communication with federal, state, and local funding agencies, donors, and community partners.
Represent Hill College in community organizations and professional associations to strengthen relationships and enhance institutional visibility.
Maintain accurate records of donations, donor interactions, and grant activity using advancement and tracking systems.
Support stewardship efforts by assisting with donor communication, reporting, and recognition.
Apply working knowledge of fundraising principles, grant compliance requirements, and institutional advancement best practices.
Uphold and promote the Hill College mission, vision, values, and Code of Conduct.

Assist in strengthening external partnerships that enhance financial sustainability and program growth.
Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, systems, and outreach efforts.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Institutional Advancement staff, faculty, administrators, and external partners.
Coordinate with internal departments to gather data, narratives, and documentation needed for proposals and reports.
Serve on college committees and participate in institutional initiatives as assigned.
