Job DescriptionThe USF Morsani College of Medicine seeks a relationship-driven Assistant Director of Development and Alumni Engagement to support fundraising priorities and strengthen alumni involvement. This role leads key alumni engagement initiatives, manages special fundraising campaigns, and supports donor identification through meaningful alumni interactions. The position coordinates alumni events, oversees alumni board operations, and develops targeted outreach to recruit members and volunteers. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, sound judgment, and effective collaboration with campus and community partners to enhance participation and advance the college's advancement goals.
Responsibilities- Reports directly to the Director of Development and collaborates closely to align alumni engagement efforts with fundraising priorities.
- Assists the Director of Development in identifying potential prospects for the fundraising pipeline through alumni interactions, event participation, and community engagement.
- Manages annual special campaigns for the Morsani College of Medicine, collaborating with the annual giving team at the USF Foundation to plan, execute, and promote these initiatives.
- Organizes and coordinates alumni events such as receptions, reunions, or campus visits to reach particular constituent groups.
- Recruits new Alumni Society members through personal contacts, events, and presentations to community groups.
- Develops e-solicitation or mail solicitation projects including idea, design, and implementation.
- Coordinates alumni board meetings and activities.
- Collaborates with alumni affairs colleagues in other units on campus to develop strategies, goals and objectives for alumni participation.
- Creates university-community partnerships by engaging business and community leaders and encouraging continued involvement through group participation.
Qualifications- This position requires a Bachelor's degree and three years of experience related to development or other appropriate professional experience.
- Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.
- Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
