Job DescriptionThe Assistant Vice President of Corporate and Foundation Relations provides strategic leadership for securing philanthropic support from corporations and private foundations in alignment with institutional priorities. Reporting to the Vice President of Central Development, the AVP develops and executes institution-wide strategies to secure funding for academic programs, research, scholarships, faculty initiatives, and capital priorities. The role collaborates closely with university leadership, deans, faculty, and advancement colleagues to align funder interests with institutional goals, oversee proposal development and stewardship, and strengthen long-term external partnerships that enhance institutional impact.
Responsibilities- Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive corporate and private foundation fundraising strategy that drives revenue and engagement including prospect identification, cultivation, and stewardship;
- Manage and mentor a team of major gift officers, setting clear fundraising goals, providing guidance, and fostering professional development;
- Oversee proposal development by guiding grant strategy, ensuring alignment with funder priorities, and coordinating across internal stakeholders;
- Develop and manage a strategic portfolio of corporate partners and private foundations to advance institutional priorities through philanthropic investment;
- Partner with university leadership and academic units to identify funding opportunities that support institutional priorities, collaborate on prospect identification and donor engagement;
- Ensure accurate tracking of donor data, gift histories, and progress toward fundraising goals and generate regular reports for leadership;
- Track funding outcomes and ensure compliance, including reporting, impact measurement, and maintaining strong funder engagement over time
QualificationsRequires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum of 10 years of related exempt level experience, including seven years of managerial experience, preferably in large complex institutions or organizations. Requires experience in leading multiple teams, projects, programs, and/or functions.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.
