Current Opening The Administrative Assistant serves as the first point of contact for Advancement & Engagement-related inquiries, welcomes guests/visitors/constituents to the Advancement & Engagement Office, receives in-person, email and telephone inquiries, and directs callers/visitors as appropriate. The Administrative Assistant plans and manages the administrative workflow of the office, providing general administrative/clerical support to the Advancement & Engagement team, including the incoming Vice President. This position will coordinate/schedule meetings, take meeting minutes, assist with project management, division communications, and events hosted by the Office of Advancement & Engagement. The Administrative Assistant liaises frequently with senior leadership, the Office of the President, and the Board of Trustees.
The Advancement & Engagement Division unites development/fundraising, alumni relations, corporate, foundation, and government relations, and related communications and events to build lasting constituent relationships, match donors' interests with College's needs and priorities, and secure the financial resources necessary to support the Mission of the College for years to come.
Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in office administration or equivalent required. Three (3) years of administrative support experience is preferred. Professional work experience in the higher education setting is a plus.
A strong customer service focus is required, with the ability to effectively relay information via telephone and email communications. Above average verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills required; Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite required. Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel desired. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, maintain attention to detail orientation, and excel in a fast-paced, high volume office with little to no supervision is required. The successful candidate must be able to build professional relationships with internal and external constituents, work collaboratively with others, and also exercise independent thinking. Should be able to foresee risks and anticipate needs, and make sound decisions. Ability to quickly and efficiently learn software that is highly utilized within the Advancement space required. High degree of professionalism and a demonstrated ability to maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality is required.
This is a full-time, 12-month, benefit-eligible position. While some flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity for periodic remote days exists, this position is on campus in Cresson, PA, and is not eligible for remote work. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of their application.
