POSITION: Assistant Director of Annual Giving

Assistant Director of Annual Giving Plans and executes annual giving activities and solicitations and other donor communications, designed to establish donor connections with the College. Develops programs and activity to deepen engagement and foster relationships that lead to philanthropic support.
Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree or specialized training in a related field.
Experience: One to 3 years' experience in Annual Giving or a related field such as marketing or sales preferably in Higher Education.
Skills and Knowledge: - Excellent attention to detail; accuracy, flexibility and demonstrated ability to be proactive and to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to navigate effectively through donor database and continue to learn new skills to maximize CRM utilization in segmenting and analyzing data.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to organize own work, set priorities, adjust to peak periods in the workflow and complete assignments independently.
- Ability to work effectively in a team. Must have the ability to work comfortably with individuals in all areas of the College (faculty, staff, students, donors, alumni, etc.).
- Sensitivity, good judgment and the ability to handle highly confidential material and information.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Flexibility to perform daily recurring tasks while at the same time working on various longer-term departmental projects.
Essential duties: - Determine strategies and implement plans for annual giving appeals and outreach throughout the year with the primary objectives of attaining goals for dollars raised, donor counts, and alumni participation rate.
- Coordinate operations and logistics for direct mail, email, and online appeals, including developing optimal production schedules; segmenting and preparting detailed data files; developing messaging and writing appeal copy in conjunction with VP Philanthropy and other colleagues.
- Coordinates and updates platform for all approved SVC crowdfunding initiatives, especially the annual day of giving.
- Serve as primary liaison to outside strategic partners and other vendors, ensuring that direct mail and other communications remain on schedule.
- Analyze and monitor appeal response rates, giving trends, and donor data to make informed decisions about current and future strategies; Prepare reports on results.
- Work with the Senior Director of Advancement Services to ensure data integrity and accurate segmentation of donor and prospect data prior to all mail merges.
- Work with Major Gift Officers, Stewardship team, and other colleagues to develop and facilitate plans and programs to retain and elevate giving of donors at each level of giving pyramid, through segmented digital stewardship and other strategies.
- Partner with co!leagues on the Alumni Relations team to ensure a coordinated strategic approach to soliciting Alumni, especially building on connections in affinity groups, utilizing messaging and tone that recognizes milestones and builds a case for support around their connection to the College.
- Explore possibilities for developing constituent-based giving programs engaging parents more effectively, monthly donor programs, etc.
- Responsible for staying current on all fundraising best practices, peer institutions, and annual giving trends to help identify areas for annual giving program growth and opportunity.
- Interview, hire, train and supervise work-study students as needed.
