About the Position
What You’ll Do
The PREA Foundation seeks a detail-oriented, execution-focused Development and Communications
Director to serve as the operational and communications engine of its fundraising function. Working
closely with the Executive Director and the Managing Director of Development and Partnerships, this
role owns the systems and workflows that keep development running — gift processing and invoicing,
CRM and database management, donor reporting, and pipeline tracking — while also executing the
donor communications and digital content that keep the Foundation’s work visible and its donors
engaged.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of systems and storytelling. The right
candidate brings rigor and attention to detail to database management and gift processing, and that
same clarity and care to donor communications: acknowledgements, reports, newsletters, one-pagers.
Above all, this role requires someone who can manage competing priorities with precision and followthrough, who takes ownership of their work, and who finds meaning in the behind-the-scenes work that makes the Foundation’s mission possible.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Operations
• Execute donor gift processing, invoicing, acknowledgements, and documentation for corporate,
foundation, and individual donors
• Support the Executive Director and Managing Director of Development and Partnerships with

• Collaborate with finance and operations partners to reconcile gifts, pledges, invoices, and
payments
• Conduct prospect research and analyze funding sources and philanthropic trends to help
position the Foundation ahead of shifts in funding priorities
• Support the implementation of a comprehensive plan to identify new potential funders and
secure commitments in support of the Foundation’s $8M+ annual revenue target
• Prepare briefing materials, proposals, presentations, and customized communications

partnership experiences
Donor Communications and Content Management

that advance the Foundation’s brand, visibility, and fundraising goals
• Manage and regularly update the PREA Foundation website, ensuring content is accurate,
engaging, current, and aligned with organizational priorities
• Develop, schedule, and oversee content for social media platforms, using storytelling, data, and
program highlights to engage donors, partners, and the broader industry audience
• Draft, edit, and coordinate a wide range of communications materials, including donor
newsletters, email campaigns, annual reports, case statements, proposals, one-pagers,
presentations, and talking points
• Translate program outcomes, grantmaking results, and impact data into compelling narratives
tailored to different audiences, including donors, board members, partners, and the public
• Ensure consistency of voice, messaging, and visual identity across all communications and
collateral
• Coordinate with external consultants, designers, writers, and marketing vendors as needed to
support communications and brand initiatives
• Track and analyze engagement metrics (e.g., email, website, social media performance) to
inform communications strategies and continuous improvement
Donor Stewardship and Engagement
• Manage donor stewardship activities to ensure a consistent, positive, and high-touch donor
experience
• Coordinate and execute donor benefits, recognition, and annual touchpoints in a timely and
professional manner
• Prepare and distribute donor updates, grant reports, and impact summaries in collaboration
with program and leadership teams
• Serve as a primary point of contact for existing donor inquiries, responding with professionalism,
discretion, and responsiveness
• Coordinate donor engagement opportunities such as site visits, event invitations, and volunteer
experiences that connect donors with the Foundation’s programs, grantees, and mission
• Support donor meetings, events, and convenings, including preparation of briefing materials,
presentations, follow-up communications, and relationship tracking
Database Management, Reporting, and Systems
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records within the Foundation’s CRM and fundraising
databases
• Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and effective use of donor data to support
