Job SummaryThe Senior Data Analyst plays a critical role in advancing data-informed decision-making across the university. This position is responsible for leading complex data analysis, developing scalable reporting solutions, and translating data into actionable insights that support institutional priorities.
This role goes beyond standard reporting and serves as a strategic partner to leadership, helping to shape data strategy, improve data quality, and enhance the university's ability to leverage analytics for planning and performance.
Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks - Lead advanced data analysis to support institutional initiatives, fundraising performance, and operational effectiveness.
- Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
- Design, build, and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI or similar tools).
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability across reporting platforms.
- Automate recurring reports to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to improve data integrity, governance, and standardization.
- Develop and document data definitions, business rules, and reporting standards.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and implement long-term solutions.
- Serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business users.
- Gather requirements from leadership and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Present findings in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to non-technical audiences.
- Mentor junior staff or serve as a subject matter expert for data and reporting best practices.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance reporting capabilities.
- Stay current on emerging trends in data analytics and higher education reporting.
Required Education/Experience- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Business, or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.
- May accept a combination of education and experience.
