DescriptionThe Assistant Director of Annual Giving: Digital Giving and Engagement reports to the Director of Annual Giving and is responsible for managing alumni social media platforms, overseeing digital giving programs such as Bring the Roar and Founders' Day, supporting alumni virtual educational programming, managing alumni web content, as well as any initiatives determined by the Director of Annual Giving. This position will work collaboratively with all members of the annual giving and alumni engagement teams, leveraging current alumni connections and programming to build a robust online engagement and giving platform.
The ideal candidate for this role has experience engaging and mobilizing large audiences through a variety of online platforms. Digital marketing and project or account management is key. Expertise on how to manipulate data and develop actionable analytics is critical, and an entrepreneurial mindset is helpful. All members of the team are expected to support Lafayette College and the Advancement Team's key initiatives, major events, projects and strategic goals.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential roles and responsibilities for this position include creation and oversight of the following areas:
Social Media
Oversee all alumni social media channels
Determine online content to engage alumni through creative and meaningful ways
Interact with alumni through all social media platforms and assist alumni in connecting with their passions by coordinating with advancement colleagues
Digital Giving Plan
Working with the Director of Annual Giving, create yearly digital giving campaign that supports key initiatives of the Division of Advancement, College and annual giving goals
Oversee online giving through annual programs such as Bring the Roar Virtual Programming
Rebuild the ConnectEd virtual program series
With the help of advancement colleagues, identify alumni to virtually present on relevant topics
Upload the virtual content to be presented on the alumni website Communications
Assist alumni engagement team members in creating copy for event registrations and emails
Help in maintaining consistent branding and messaging across all digital platforms, including but not limited to emails, website, social media, and text messages
Serve as the main point of the contact with the Lafayette College communications team Digital Engagement Plan
Working with the Director of Alumni Engagement, create a yearly digital communication plan that supports key initiatives of the advancement division and College
Maintain content on the alumni website so it remains relevant and timely
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience and Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Communications, Marketing, or Event Management) or equivalent
Two to three years of experience in higher education, social media or communications
KEY COMPETENCIES
Experience in social media and communications
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Familiarity with alumni engagement strategies and best practices.
Proficiency in using relevant software and tools (Microsoft Office, CRM systems, Google suite, Hustle etc.).
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during events, as needed.
