The Position: Assistant Director, Donor Relations
Job Summary:Reporting to the director of donor relations, the assistant director builds and strengthens relationships with donors and donor prospects by implementing and managing the Office of Advancement's endowed stewardship program, overseeing endowment reporting and fund management, and supporting annual stewardship events.
CHARACTERISTIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Endowed Fund Stewardship
Manage and oversee stewardship protocols for all endowed funds and ensure timely and accurate endowed fund reporting to donors. This includes daily communication with various College offices to ensure funds are spent appropriately and to gather information on their use. It also requires frequent outreach to hundreds of faculty, staff and student recipients of funds to collect report material prior to formatting it and preparing it for donors.
Partner with various campus constituencies, i.e. business and provost's offices and department chairs, to ensure endowed funds are properly accounted for and utilized.
Develop and send Endowment Welcome Packets to new endowed fund donors.
Database Management
Lead endowed fund audit to analyze fund agreement status.
Assist the director of donor relations in creating and maintaining a tracking system or database of endowed funds, contacts, report requirements, agreements status, etc.
Oversee digitization of donor relations' files, ensuring agreements are secure and accessible.
Donor Events
Oversee the coordination of meetings between scholarship donors and recipients, both individually and collectively at the Scholarship Reception event.
Support donor relations events, such as Scholarship Reception, Lifetime Giving Society and dedications, as needed.
Donor Relations Activity and Operations
Track and analyze donor relations data and metrics.
Share responsibility for meeting the annual fundraising goals and objectives, including participating in annual fund solicitations, phonathons and other related duties.
Attend and contribute to major College functions, including but not limited to Alumni Weekend, #MULEMENTUM and THAW.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum one year experience in higher education advancement.
Strong writing skills.
Ability to estimate the time and money implications of planned projects and to deliver projects on schedule and on budget.
Demonstrated ability to meet goals and effectively handle multiple priorities.
Thorough knowledge of and experience with standard software applications such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
Unwavering attention to deadlines and detail.
Ability to multi-task and keep a variety of tasks moving forward concurrently.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals in a challenging environment and work collegially under pressure.
Ability to work in a self-directed fashion while serving as a member of a collaborative advancement team.
Ability to interpret and analyze data and draw appropriate conclusions.
Database management experience, preferably in Millennium.
Commitment to customer service and sensitivity to public relations impact of all development activities.
Ability to understand and articulate the role of a small, private liberal arts college.
