Communications at MTREP
Great long-term contract opportunity available! At MTREP, our Communications Specialist handles proactive and reactive communication strategies across multiple owned social media channels. This involves planning and implementing communication strategies for public information programs, efficiently managing crisis responses, and aiding in driving campaigns to boost viewership, support, and attendance for both current and upcoming MTREP events.
Your Day to Day
- Collaborate with the team to develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that effectively engages our diverse audiences through various earned and owned social media channels.
- Generate and manage MTREPs’ communications content to meet the unique needs of the community
- Oversee the communications calendar, highlighting upcoming projects, news, organizational milestones, and opportunities for donors and the public to engage with us.
- Ensure the success of our communications strategy by analyzing the impact of both online and offline marketing efforts, optimizing strategies for maximum engagement.
- Collaborate with the team on current and future events across Montana(ie. the One-Stop Shop for Community Events and Volunteer Opportunities; a central platform reflecting our dedication to fostering community involvement).
- Coordinate public relations strategies, including messaging, content, and media materials so that our communication remains consistent, relevant and impactful.

- Proficient in computer software applications, G suite, social media management, handling of sensitive information (Required).
- 6+ months - 2 years minimum of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- Stellar writing and storytelling skills:prose that’s clear and concise, with an eye toward eliminating jargon.
- Unwavering integrity and a strong personal dedication to assisting individuals from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating the capacity to uphold respect, prevent bias, and effectively analyze data to provide actionable insights that support informed decision-making for others.
- The ability to clearly articulate the importance of a story, even when dealing with challenging or emotionally charged issues along with the skills needed to simplify and explain these topics.
- Organized, self-starter, able to work independently, adapt to shifting deadlines and reprioritize assignment completion.
