Job DescriptionSUMMARY:Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations, the Donor Experience Officer plays a key role in supporting donor relations and major gift pipeline development. This role focuses on developing personal relationships with an assigned portfolio of over 1,000 prioritized annual giving prospects by providing donor-centric concierge services that results in new, renewed, and increased support for the university.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Use technology tools to implement a multi-channel approach to systematically cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors and prospects capable of making leadership annual gifts of $1,000-$24,999.
- Actively engage and build highly personalized relationships based on what truly matters to each individual in a dynamic portfolio of 1,000 prospective leadership-level annual giving donors with clear weekly, monthly, and annual goals.
- Perform up to 50+ touchpoints per day.
- Develop strategies to cultivate relationships with donors via email, hand-written notes, social media, phone, video conferencing, texting, and in-person visits.
- Develop and identify a pipeline of potential principal and major gift prospects and connect them to colleagues as appropriate to ensure a seamless transition in their relationship with the University.
- Recommend and implement creative approaches to meet donor goals and objectives.
- Engage mid-level donors in a variety of ways to include high-touch surveys, volunteering/mentoring, attending events, and other ways in which the constituent wants to engage with the University.
- Meet agreed-upon fundraising metrics as defined by the supervisor, including donor and revenue retention, donor reactivation, new gifts, outreach attempts, contacts, and major gift leads generated.
- Execute monthly and quarterly touchpoint cadences (up to 50 outbound touch points per day) across the portfolio to share relevant personalized donor communication and deepen engagement.
- Demonstrate to donors the impact of their giving. Provide information on university development and programs relative to their philanthropic interests and offer opportunities for public recognition.
- Promote philanthropic affinity-based opportunities, such as university and college giving priorities, crowdfunding projects, and One Day for Montclair.
- Develop and maintain broad knowledge of the university through campus partnerships in admissions, athletics, colleges, community engagement, etc. Develop a network of contacts throughout the university to access additional information.
- Build out a resource hub of relevant content to share with donors.
- Document communication preferences learned through outreach to strengthen the quality of data in the CRM database and share biographical data updates.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports. Track donor progress and effectively communicate updates.
- Represent and promote the university through exemplifying the mission and values of the institution.
- Maintain essential records and files.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in an institution of higher education, or related field.
- Ability to prioritize and organize complex projects in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, quality-driven, and team-oriented.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal (verbal, written and listening) skills across all mediums.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a workload between multiple cloud-based platforms and databases with an understanding of data-driven donor or customer engagement.
- Ability to handle confidential material responsibly and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals.
PREFERRED:
- Experience in development, major gifts, annual giving, customer service or high-volume sales.
- Proficiency in CRM software and data analysis to track fundraising progress.
- High degree of grit, resilience, and a desire to challenge the status quo.
- Must be savvy with technology tools and have the ability to work with various programs in a high-volume atmosphere with a "can do" attitude.
