DescriptionLafayette College seeks a positive and proactive professional interested in partnering with a dedicated and collaborative Alumni Engagement & Annual Giving team. This role requires considerable experience with Microsoft Office suite and specifically the ability to create, edit, sort, and navigate Word and Excel documents proficiently. Additionally, this role will work extensively within the various online engagement platforms for event registrations, online giving, and emails; as well as the Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system for the Division. Refined organizational skills are essential as this person must handle and prioritize multiple tasks and requests for information simultaneously. The Department Specialist will also be responsible for a full range of office and clerical assignments in support of the Alumni Engagement and Annual Fund team, including but not limited to providing event support including correspondence, name tags and lists, fielding questions, preparing supplies and post-event follow-up. The Department Specialist will also perform event calendar management, and manage the baby leopard program. This position is essential to the successful execution of alumni and donor services and events, and serves as the first point of contact to the office for both internal and external members of the Lafayette community. Excellent customer service skills are required as this position is responsible for answering phones, responding to emails, and assisting in-person guests. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to learn quickly and work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The Department Specialist l is a full-time, union position.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Associates degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in an office environment, preferably in higher education or non-profit industries.
- Microsoft Office Suite and Google suite experience.
- Prior experience in Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) preferred.
- Ability to work in a team, as well as independently.
- Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with all constituents.
- Ability to manage time and tasks efficiently, anticipate needs, and complete multiple projects in a timely manner.
- Positive attitude and ability to provide outstanding customer service to external constituents.
- Strong organizational, communications (written and oral), and interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn and master new processes.
