RolesThe Advancement Stewardship Assistant is responsible for supporting and cultivating relations with individuals and corporate principals to sustain long-term engagement and philanthropic support.

Responsibilities- Stewardship for Signature Events:
- Enhance stewardship plans that include gift acknowledgement, recognition, appreciation, accountability, and reporting.
- Support ongoing efforts to leverage NU events for sponsor engagement and recognition
- Assist in cultivating solid long-term relationships that result in philanthropic support
- Collaborate with major gift officers, annual giving director, alumni relations, and signature events director to advance shared goals that grow philanthropic giving
- Create process documents to support action
- Liberty Fund Scholarships:
- Creating and/or coordination with scholarship donors via letter writing and/or videos
- Assist with creation of annual reports
- Coordinate additional ways to help interactions between students and their scholarship donors
- Create process documents to support action
- Project 100
- Co-host Project 100 by promoting program to students and alumni
- Grow membership to Project 100 by soliciting new donors
- Assist with proposals and submissions
- Organize, communicate, and report Project 100 updates
- Retain current donors with stewardship
- Work with NU Office of Communications and Alumni for promotions and media coverage of projects
- Top Donor Reports
- Create annual update reports for top 25 major donors to the university
- Reinforce and create a culture of philanthropy with students enrolled at Northwood University
- Assist with educating students about "NU Day of Giving" and Founders Day
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree with relevant work experience with a focus on Communications, Business, or Public Relations
- Strong writing capabilities with the specific ability to create and present written proposals
- High level of impactful interpersonal skills
- Understanding and experience in marketing
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in social media and digital communications
- Articulate and support The Northwood Idea and express thoughts clearly in private and public settings
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
Expectations- Implement and coordinate a broad-based strategy of donor recognition, stewardship and donor communications
- Manage donor gift acknowledgement and proactively identify opportunities to communicate with donors and alumni
- Plan and assist with the execution of cultivation and stewardship events on campus and around the country
- Reinforce The Northwood Idea with all solicitations and mailings
- Involve alumni through various events supporting enrollment, athletic, and academic efforts
- Travel and work during evenings, weekends, mornings in coordination with events
