Your opportunity:
As Senior Prospect Management Analyst, you will be a strategic partner to gift officers, Advancement leaders, and colleagues across the Division of University Advancement. You will help shape how prospect portfolios are built, reviewed, and strengthened so that fundraising activity is focused, disciplined, and aligned with institutional priorities.
In this role, you will combine analysis, judgment, and relationship management to support strong prospect strategy and pipeline performance. You will lead regular portfolio conversations, provide informed recommendations on prospect movement and assignment, and develop reporting and tools that help colleagues make sound fundraising decisions. The incumbent has responsibility for the daily management, maintenance and oversight for documents, systems and processes necessary to maintain effective and efficient operation of the prospect management program.
You will also play an important role in supporting the effective use of prospect management systems, procedures, and data across the division. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced prospect management professional who wants to contribute at a high level in a complex advancement environment and help strengthen prospect management practice across a major institution.
Your responsibilities will include:
Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
Advising on strategies for potential major donor prospects
Assessing needs and contributing to the development and implementation of plans for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition
Producing complex statistical information
Planning components of prospecting projects
Generating reports
Training end-users on procedures and the use of supported IT systems
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum three years experience in advancement/fundraising.
Relevant experience in project management, advancement services, fundraising operations within a complex advancement environment preferred.
Significant relevant experience in prospect management, advancement services, fundraising operations, or a related function, preferably within a complex advancement environment.
Experience working with comprehensive contact management or fundraising database systems such as Blackbaud CRM, or similar platforms.
Experience with prospect management and/or fundraising experience considered a strong asset.
Demonstrated ability to advise on prospect strategy and use data from multiple sources to make sound recommendations.
Experience planning and implementing projects, including developing schedules, milestones, timelines, deliverables, and reporting.
Experience managing multiple priorities and projects with competing timelines.
Experience preparing reports and analysis from multiple data sources.
Experience developing and delivering training, guidance documents, or related end-user resources.
Strong computer skills, including experience analyzing data in a complex CRM database and advanced fluency in spreadsheet work.
Ability to provide consultative advice on data requirements and explain processes clearly to a range of stakeholders.
Proven training and coaching skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across functions to achieve shared goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing, spelling, and grammar skills.
Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Knowledge of and commitment to professional ethics and appropriate guidelines and policies.
