PHILANTHROPY OFFICER, INTERMEDIATE GIFTS & ANNUAL FUND
The Philanthropy Officer (Manager), Intermediate Gifts & Annual Fund is a dynamic role driving the growth of TIFF’s intermediate giving and annual fund programs, while leading key signature philanthropic initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Director, Philanthropy, this position manages a portfolio of approximately 100–125 intermediate donors contributing up to $25,000 annually, with a focus on cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, retention, and donor growth.
This role also leads TIFF’s Annual Campaign and End-of-Year Campaign, overseeing strategy, donor communications, creative development, and multi-channel execution to grow broadbase and intermediate giving. In addition, the Philanthropy Officer leads the Share Her Journey Giving Circle and helps drive the continued growth and visibility of Share Her Journey as a philanthropic initiative and brand.
The Philanthropy Officer, Intermediate Gifts & Annual Fund is also responsible for the planning and execution of TIFF’s premium, talent-facing fundraising events, including the Beyond the Red Carpet series and other Festival-based donor experiences. Working closely with colleagues across Philanthropy, Marketing, Loyalty & Engagement, Programming, TIFF: The Market, and other internal teams, this position delivers high-impact donor engagement, creative fundraising campaigns, and exceptional stewardship experiences that advance TIFF’s mission and philanthropic profile.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a portfolio of approximately 100–125 intermediate donors contributing up to $25,000 annually, with a focus on cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, retention, and donor growth.
Lead strategy for TIFF’s intermediate giving program, building meaningful long-term donor relationships through high-touch stewardship, personalized engagement, and compelling impact storytelling.
Lead TIFF’s Annual Campaign and End-of-Year Campaign, including planning, messaging, donor communications, creative development, and multi-channel execution.
Develop and implement TIFF’s broadbase giving program, engaging hundreds of donors annually through integrated campaigns supporting TIFF’s mission and priority areas.
Collaborate with Marketing and Loyalty & Engagement to deliver segmented renewal, acquisition, and upgrade strategies across direct mail, email, social media, telefunding, and digital channels.
Lead the end-to-end management and continued evolution of the Share Her Journey initiative, including strategic brand development and campaign execution in collaboration with internal senior leadership and external creative partners.
Manage the Share Her Journey Giving Circle, with responsibility for donor strategy, stewardship, engagement, and premium year-round experiences.
Lead the planning and execution of premium, talent-facing fundraising events, including the Beyond the Red Carpet series and other Festival donor experiences.
Curate guest lists, support leadership remarks, and deliver high-touch donor engagement for exclusive philanthropic events and Festival fundraisers.
Direct the creation of campaign assets, including cinema trailers, social advertisements, and high-touch digital content for Annual Campaign and End-of-Year fundraising efforts.
Facilitate donor movement between broadbase, intermediate, and major gifts through coordinated pipeline and portfolio strategies.
Articulate the value of supporting TIFF’s mission and priority areas, including Operations, Education, TIFF Lightbox programming, Cinematheque/Cinematique, and the Festival.
Develop and implement solicitation strategies for broadbase and intermediate donors, ticket buyers, and community members through personal outreach, email, phone, mail, texting, and data-informed engagement.
Work closely with Philanthropy colleagues and the Advancement Operations Coordinator to execute stewardship, donor engagement, and fundraising initiatives.
Maintain accurate donor records, contact reports, proposals, and opportunities in Raiser’s Edge according to established protocols.
Track revenue and expense budgets for the Annual Campaign, events, and Share Her Journey activities.
Respond to donor inquiries received through TIFF’s website and other departments, providing a high level of customer service.
Attend and support TIFF events throughout the year, including full-time participation during the Festival.
Ensure all relevant SOPs are followed and kept up to date.
JOB GRADE & SALARY:
Job Grade 3
Salary Range: $60 000 - $78 000
Our salary ranges reflect the range of skills and experience required for the role. Typically, candidates new to the role are positioned up to the midpoint of the range, with progression through the range based on performance and development over time. The top of the salary band is for employees who consistently demonstrate high performance in their role.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of fundraising experience, preferably in annual giving, intermediate gifts, or a related area.
Experience managing donor relationships and supporting solicitation and stewardship strategies.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.
Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and ability to work independently.
Comfort working with data, reporting, and revenue tracking.
Proficiency in Google Workspace and strong spreadsheet skills.
Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge or a comparable CRM.
Familiarity with prospect research tools such as iWave is an asset.
Basic understanding of CRA charitable receipting rules is an asset.
Must be able to travel locally between meetings, job sites, and events.
Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends.
