We are a non-profit men’s shelter that is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for men struggling with addiction, re-entry, and homelessness. Our residential recovery shelter offers comprehensive services, including counseling, vocational training, and life skills development. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Development Officer to join our team and help us continue our mission.
Job Description:
This is primarily a FUNDRAISING position. The Development Officer is responsible for securing funding through grants, individual giving, corporate partnerships, and major gifts. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in fundraising and grant writing.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management:
•Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising portfolio strategy, including identifying and prioritizing funding opportunities.
•Monitor the pipeline of potential donors and grants, tracking progress and ensuring timely follow-up.
•Analyze fundraising data to measure performance and inform future strategies.
Grant Writing and Management:
•Research, identify, and pursue government and private grant opportunities.
•Develop compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate our mission and impact.
•Manage the grant application and reporting process, ensuring timely submission and compliance with all guidelines.
•Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar and track application deadlines and reporting requirements.
Donor Relations:
•Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
•Plan and execute donor cultivation events, such as donor appreciation dinners and donor visits.
•Manage donor records and maintain accurate records in Bloomerang CRM.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, marketing, communications).
•Proven track record in grant writing and fundraising, with a strong understanding of government and private grant funding sources.
•Proficiency in using Bloomerang CRM or similar donor management software.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•Passion for the mission of helping individuals overcome addiction and homelessness.
