Primary Duties and
Responsibilities: The Senior Data Analyst plays a critical role in transforming advancement data into actionable intelligence that drives fundraising strategy, performance management, and executive decision-making. This position leads the development of standardized reports, dashboards, and analytical models supporting fundraising performance, campaign progress, portfolio management, and donor behavior analysis. The Senior Data Analyst partners closely with Advancement leadership, frontline fundraisers, Prospect Research, Gift Administration, and IT to ensure accurate, timely, and trusted insights across the advancement enterprise. This role is both hands-on and consultative, requiring strong analytical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into clear narratives for diverse stakeholders.
Primary position responsibilities:
Reporting & Dashboard Development- Design, build, and maintain standardized dashboards and reports for:
- Executive leadership and board reporting
- Campaign and fundraising performance
- Major gift officer portfolio and pipeline management
- Annual fund trends and participation metrics - Ensure reports align with institutional goals, CASE standards, and agreed-upon definitions.
- Reduce reliance on manual Excel reporting by developing automated, repeatable reporting solutions.
Forecasting & Predictive Analytics- Support development of forecasting models to project revenue, pipeline outcomes, and campaign performance.
- Assist with predictive analytics initiatives such as: Prospect identification and scoring Donor lifetime value modeling
- Gift likelihood and capacity modeling.
- Develop insights that inform strategy related to donor acquisition, retention, upgrades, and campaign readiness.
Data Quality & Governance Support- Collaborate with Data Management and CRM teams to ensure reporting reflects clean, well-governed data.
- Identify recurring data quality issues impacting reporting and escalate recommendations for remediation.
- Support data governance efforts by documenting metric definitions, business rules, and reporting standards.
- Collaboration and Training
- Partner with frontline fundraisers to support effective portfolio strategy and data usage.
- Provide guidance to fundraisers on prospect management expectations, data entry standards, and system usage.
- Collaborate with Advancement Services teams to continuously improve prospect development processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Serve as a strategic partner to Advancement Services leadership and frontline fundraising teams.
- Translate business questions into analytical requirements and deliver clear, actionable outputs.
- Participate in governance and working groups related to reporting, analytics, and data strategy.

- Technical, Computer, and Software Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software. Experience in Advancement Services, fundraising analytics, or nonprofit reporting. Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Required EducationBachelor's degree is required.
Required Experience4-6 years experience in a similar role is required.
