Job SummaryTuskegee University seeks a collaborative and energetic advancement professional to serve as Associate Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement. This role strengthens the lifelong relationship between the university and its alumni, parents, and students through innovative programs, strategic communications, and constituent-focused initiatives.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement, the Associate Director serves as the alumni and parent liaison to the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, and School of Nursing and Allied Health. In this role, they will engage alumni, parents, and students across these academic units to promote pride, participation, and philanthropy-supporting the university's overall goal of increasing alumni giving and building a culture of constituent engagement.
Essential Job DutiesConstituent Engagement & Program Management- Develop and implement targeted alumni and parent engagement strategies for the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, and School of Nursing and Allied Health.
- Cultivate relationships with deans, faculty, and student affairs partners to identify and execute engagement opportunities tied to academic and campus life.
- Design programs that connect students to the alumni experience and instill a culture of philanthropy prior to graduation.
- Organize events, reunions, affinity networks, and volunteer activities that enhance lifelong connection to the university.
Parent and Family Engagement- Serve as the university's primary liaison to parents and families of students within assigned colleges, creating opportunities for engagement in campus life and philanthropic initiatives.
- Partner with Admissions and Student Affairs to support family onboarding and ongoing involvement throughout the student life cycle.
- Develop strategies to encourage parent giving and identify potential donor prospects among family constituents.
Student Philanthropy & Pipeline Development- Lead efforts to educate students about the importance of giving, cultivating future alumni donors through campaigns and awareness efforts.
- Build and manage a pipeline of engaged alumni, parents, and student leaders who demonstrate philanthropic interest and share qualified leads with development officers.
- Track, document, and report constituent interactions and activities using the university's CRM system (RE NXT).
Volunteer Coordination- Identify, recruit, and support alumni and parent volunteers for class engagement, advisory groups, student mentoring, and campaign events.
- Implement consistent volunteer stewardship and recognition practices in collaboration with divisional colleagues.
Communications & Outreach- Collaborate with the Development Communications Manager to develop and distribute targeted messaging, newsletters, and event promotions.
- Support digital and print content strategies highlighting alumni and parent achievements and opportunities for involvement.
Strategic Alignment- Align engagement activities with CASE Alumni Engagement Metrics (AEM), annual participation goals, and broader campaign objectives.
- Provide regular updates to the Senior Director and collaborate closely with development officers to ensure engagement efforts translate into giving opportunities.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in higher education, with direct involvement in alumni relations, parent engagement, student development, or advancement.
- Deep appreciation for the mission and legacy of Tuskegee University and the role of HBCUs.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:* Knowledge of Tuskegee University's history, mission, and alumni community.
* Understanding of advancement, fundraising, or alumni engagement processes.
* Cultural competency and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
